Speaker sound quality can be tested from multiple aspects.
1. Low-frequency quality test
Sound quality characteristics judgment: The low frequency produced by inferior speakers is deafening but bloated and thick, lacking in layering and solidity. Good low frequencies should be clean, bright, and layered, without dragging. For example, various low-frequency instruments such as large and small drums, bass guitars, and piano bass can be easily distinguished under high-quality low-frequency performance. So you can't just be confused by the volume of low frequencies. Poor low frequencies are not as natural and comfortable as clean sounds.
Weight reference: Generally, a 38-centimeter-high bookshelf speaker weighs six or seven kilograms. If it exceeds this weight by a lot, even up to thirty or forty kilograms, its weight may just be a gimmick and not help much with the overall sound quality.
2. Intermediate-frequency human voice test
Voice abnormality judgment: The human voice is the most commonly heard sound. Pay attention to whether the human voice has an unusual nasal sound or a feeling of being pursed. The box sound of some speakers will greatly interfere with the intermediate frequency, making the sound of this frequency band unclear.
Sound coloration: The mid-frequency sound coloration is more serious than other frequency sound coloration because most of the audible sound frequencies or music frequencies are concentrated in the mid-frequency range, which will hinder the playback of all kinds of music.
3. High-frequency flexibility test
Sound quality perception judgment: Poor high-frequency is shrill and piercing, which will make people have a splitting headache. In extreme cases, it will turn the beautiful voice of a violin or soprano into a sharp noise of brakes. Good high-frequency sound can distinguish the different textures produced by different instruments in high-frequency sound. Better high-frequency sound can even make people distinguish the different rhythms played by two different years and different woods.
4. High volume and sound field imaging test
Volume stability: Some speakers are stable at low volume, but they will distort or beat when the volume is increased to a certain level. If you like orchestral music, the speakers must pass this test. Standard speakers can achieve sound separation to a certain extent, create a clear sound field and imaging, and show the position and texture of different instruments.
Sound effect details: weak and tail sounds should be clearly heard, there should be no distortion at high volume and full volume, and the human voice and instrumental sounds should not be entangled. High-quality playback can show a rich sense of music, airiness, and the bounce of notes, showing a whole delicate and orderly sound and image, and long-term listening will not make the ears tired.
