Naturally, the larger the speaker size, the better. Large-diameter woofers can perform better in the low-frequency part, which can be selected during purchase. Speakers made with high-performance speakers mean lower transient distortion and better sound quality. The speakers of ordinary multimedia speakers and woofers are mostly between 3 and 5 inches. Speakers made with high-performance speakers also mean lower transient distortion and better sound quality.
Our most common electric cone speaker. Electric cone speakers are what we often call paper cone speakers in the past. Although the diaphragm is still mainly paper cone in 2014, many polymer diaphragms and metal diaphragms have appeared at the same time, so it is true to call them cone speakers. Cone speakers are generally composed of three parts: magnetic circuit system (permanent magnet, core column, magnetic plate), vibration system (paper cone, voice coil) and support auxiliary system (centering support, basin frame, pad edge).
1. Voice coil: The voice coil is the driving unit of the cone speaker. It is made of very thin copper wire wound on the paper tube in two layers, usually with dozens of turns, also known as a coil, placed in the magnetic gap formed by the magnetic core column and the magnetic plate. The voice coil is fixed to the cone. When the sound current signal is passed into the voice coil, the vibration of the voice coil drives the cone to vibrate.
2. Cone: There are many kinds of materials used for the cone diaphragm of the cone speaker, generally natural fibers and artificial fibers. Natural fibers often use cotton, wood, wool, silk, etc., while artificial fibers use rayon, nylon, glass fiber, etc. Since the cone is the sound radiating device of the speaker, it determines the sound performance of the speaker to a considerable extent. Therefore, no matter which kind of cone is used, it is required to be both light and rigid, and cannot be deformed due to changes in ambient temperature and humidity.
3. Folding ring: The folding ring is set to ensure the axial movement of the cone along the speaker and limit the lateral movement. At the same time, it plays a role in blocking the air flow in front and behind the cone. In addition to the materials commonly used for paper cones, the folding ring also uses plastics, natural rubber, etc., which are bonded to the paper cone through heat pressing.
4. Centering support: The centering support is used to support the joint between the voice coil and the paper cone to ensure that it is vertical and not skewed. There are many concentric rings on the centering support, which allows the voice coil to move freely up and down in the magnetic gap without moving horizontally, ensuring that the voice coil does not collide with the magnetic plate. The dust cover on the centering support is to prevent external dust from falling into the magnetic gap, avoiding friction between dust and the voice coil, and causing abnormal sounds in the speaker.
