Common Ceiling Speaker Parameters:
Frequency Response: Represents the fidelity of sound reproduction within a specific frequency range, expressed in dB. The flatter the curve, the higher the fidelity.
Power: The power output of the speaker during normal operation. Higher power means louder sound. Many people buy speakers with high advertised power, only to find the actual sound is weak. This isn't because the speaker is faulty, but because the seller has mistakenly labeled the maximum power as the rated power. Be careful when purchasing.
Sensitivity: Reflects the sound pressure level measured at 1 meter directly in front of the speaker when it receives 1W of input power. Normal sensitivity is 85-90 dB. Higher sensitivity means louder sound.
